EHF 25th Anniversary and 13th EHF Congress
Hans-Christoph Mücke (Creative and Show Director) provided the inspiration that took the Scalaria event location as a creative canvas and transformed it into a “World of Handball”.
Udo Rabenstein (Artistic and Multimedia Content) supported with stunning visuals and effect work, whilst Patrick Zöllner (Project Management), ensured flawless execution of the concept.
The result was two unforgettable events:
The “Get-Together” evening and the anniversary “Gala night”; both united under the motto “Total Handball.” Design of both events was inspired heavily by typical aspects of handball: dynamism and tension, quick changes and direct interaction between guests, actors and actions. Both evenings were moderated by
Anett Sattler and Markus Floth who introduced guests to a unique spectacle and an abundance of highlights. The final of the “Get Together” evening was a collective drum performance, in which every guest and actor joined to form a “Drum Connection”. The drum roll created by this coming together was a sentimental and dynamic moment - and marked the start of a successful congress. During the “Gala Evening” guests were immersed in the “World of Handball” from the very first moment.
The reception area was transformed with light beams, flashlights and sound effects into a player tunnel, allowing guests to experience the atmosphere of running out to a big game and ‘handball fever’ first hand.
The banquet hall in which guests dined was converted into a handball field of play. Artists performed athletic stunts and passed handballs between tables. They conquered the air with trampoline performances that reinterpreted the sport and integrated live acrobatic performances with video scenes on screens behind them - a fantastic effect!
A handball angel, Iveta Mukuchyan, took centre stage in a flowing white dress. Singing “Hall of Fame”, she slowly rose into the air, allowing her dress to unfold beneath her and become a canvas on which to play more inspirational images. A moment of pure magic.
After the main act, guests were lead outside into the night where they mingled by the still, darkness of lake Wolfgang overlooked by the shadowy Salzkammer mountains beyond. Truly breathtaking scenery - the perfect backdrop for a group photo… with a difference! Each guest received a cape and sign in EHF colors and together they were transformed into a “living pixel” form of the EHF logo. Out of a few laughs (and a little chaos) a moment of sentimental solidarity was born. And at it’s peak the sky lit up.A huge firework display capping a perfect and unforgettable moment for everyone involved. The EHF handball family was united – a joyous feeling that lasted, along with the celebrations, well into the night.
